Croatia Vacation - Korcula

 8/31/22

After staying the previous night in a natural harbor on Otok Scedro, we pulled into Korcula slightly after lunch.  We were able to snag a nice spot to park the boat, so we were able to get directly on/off board without needing to bother Ante for dinghy pickups.  I mainly wanted to see the walled Old Town area and grab drinks on top of the tower.  We also stopped to purchase some fancy crayons for Emerson as a way to beg forgiveness for abandoning her for weeks.  Spoiler alert: it worked.

The Old Town area was designed in a herringbone pattern to encourage air circulation, but I was still sweating my butt off.  There was the typical shopping and drinking done in the afternoon before we were able to snag a spot at Massimo right before dinner.  We had to climb a small wooden ladder to reach the top of the tower, with our drinks being delivered to the top via a pulley system.  It was pretty neato.

Our dinner reservations for the night were at Restaurant Filippi, which is recommended in the Michelin guidebook (no star, though) and boasted an excellent waterfront view from our table outside.  Sure the food was good, but Darco had pretty much ruined dining out due to the quality of his meals that were served on the boat.  We had an early morning wine tour set up for the next day, so Allison and I called it quits after dinner to grab some much needed rest.
